Odyssey

Odyssey, originally uploaded by Frank NW.

In Cerritos, CA at Odyssey chillin after unpacking the bikes and
putting them back together. Thanks to Ben Ward for picking up Shad,
Jamie Mcparland, and myself from the airport. Trying to recoup from
the early flight after a late night and decide what to ride first.

Losing my Virginity in So Cal!

Ok not really. But the last week with the new bike done but waiting on cranks to arrive to complete it has felt like a virgin trapped in a strip club. I can see it! I just can't ride it. Well cranks arrived at Life Cycle yesterday but I was to busy trying to finish a project that helped fund this trip to make it in to finish putting it together. Made it late today just before closing to finished building it. Dialed in the brakes, did a few bunny hops in the shop, weighed it (21lbs 14oz) and tore it down and packaged it up for my flight. Thanks Levi for staying late so I could do all this.

Never has being old felt so great. Headed down to Steve Swopes Old School reunion AKA "The old man jam" at Woodward west and going to pop that cherry. Pics to follow. Stay tuned.

Now it's time to try and get three hours of sleep before I have to head to the airport.

Join the Union!

Unfortunately dirt jumps don't build themselves so the Union could use your help. Spring is on its way, the weather is getting better and the mud is turning to moldable dirt once again. Lots of new lines in the works at the Backwoods. Trying to get some more intermediate and beginner lines going, come grab a shovel and pitch in. Don't be lazy and pretend your bike can't leave concrete. Put the brakes back on and ride some trails this summer!

Bling!

I owe Levi at Life Cycle Bike Shop big time for this awesome wheel build. It helps having someone with experience beyond just BMX in the bike world to help you find gems like the Sapim double butted spokes lacing these beauties together. I dropped a quarter pound per wheel in weight. He can also get you bmx parts from S&M, Fit, and Animal to name a few.

I have been riding the same basic set up going on six years. No joke. Time for a new whip. My friend Todd Gardner is hooking me up with a custom frame. Dialed. It's been cool getting some hands on experience participating in creating the bike I can't wait to ride. Sorry after dealing with me and my picky ass I don't think he'll do another bmx. If you want a sweet custom fixie, road or Mountain frame hit me up and I'll get you in touch. If you want a custom BMX frame check out Solid or S&M. Here are a couple pics of the frame in progress:
